Imports, Uploads, and File Support
We’re excited to introduce a series of improvements that make importing and processing a wider variety of files easier! This update expands our ability to support different file types and improves reliability for large file uploads and error handling during imports.
- PST File Uploads
You can now upload Outlook PST files directly into Phaselaw. PST (Personal Storage Table) files are commonly used to export large collections of emails (for example, from Exchange or Microsoft 365). With this new support, we can automatically extract all the emails and attachments from a.pst archive.
This means you no longer have to manually convert or split up PST files – simply upload the PST and all its contents will be ingested and ready for review in your case.
- HTML Files & Emails
We’ve also added support for HTML files. Now you can import those HTML files into Phaselaw and review them just like any other file, with full text search and rendering.
In addition, our email processor has been improved to handle emails in HTML format (text/html MIME type). Richly formatted emails will now display properly in the viewer, ensuring nothing gets lost in translation.
- Large Files & Error Handling
We also made under-the-hood fixes to improve support for large file uploads. In particular, we resolved an issue with hashing very large files for deduplication, so big files should now process more reliably without errors. Furthermore, we enhanced our error handling tools to help you troubleshoot problematic files.
The Errors table in the interface now offers new options: you can download the original file for any file that fails to process, and you can attempt an automated repair right from within Phaselaw. These improvements make it easier to diagnose and fix import issues, keeping your review project on track.
